Soprano Alexandra Razskazoff, praised by The New York Times as a “richly faceted, slinky soprano,” was named a Grand Finals Winner of the 2022 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. Known for her “distinctive timbre” and “lovely bloom on top” (Opera News), she continues to gain attention for her expressive storytelling and vibrant stage presence. In the 2025–2026 season, Alexandra’s engagements include Wellgunde in Götterdämmerung with Atlanta Opera and Mimì in La bohème with Opera Festival of Chicago. Recent and ongoing credits include covering Nedda in I Pagliacci with the Lyric Opera of Chicago; Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with the Northern Neck Symphony; Nedda in I Pagliacci with Vero Beach Opera; Violetta in La Traviata at Teatro Municipal de Santiago; and Wellgunde in Das Rheingold with Pacific Symphony.
Her other recent credits include Micaëla in Carmen at Teatro Municipal de Santiago, and returning to Palm Beach Opera to cover both Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and Alice Ford Falstaff. Her 2022–2023 season featured concerts with Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Maryland Opera, Washington Opera Society, Vero Beach Opera, and Panama City Symphony. In 2022, in addition to winning the Met Competition, she made debuts with Teatro Municipal de Santiago as Mimì in La bohème, Bozeman Symphony for Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Out of the Box Opera as Violetta in La traviata, and Teatro Grattacielo as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. She also sang Suzel in L’amico Fritz with Teatro Grattacielo, while covering Micaëla in Carmen and Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow.
Alexandra has made strong impressions on the competition circuit: a 2021 Semifinalist at Operalia in Moscow, 1st Prize winner of the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition, Giovanni Consiglio International Competition, and top prizes from Premiere Opera Foundation + NYIOP, Orpheus Vocal Competition, National Opera Association, and others. In 2019, she appeared in gala performances with Maryland Lyric Opera, and sang Lisa (Das Land des Lächelns) with Washington Opera Society. She made her Mid-Atlantic Symphony debut in 2020, and won numerous awards that year and the year prior, including 1st Prize in the Dorothy Lincoln-Smith and Opera at Florham Violetta DuPont Vocal Competitions, as well as the Audience Choice and Bel Canto Awards from Premiere Opera Foundation. Earlier accolades include 1st Prize in AVA’s 2018 Giargiari Bel Canto Competition, 2nd Prize in the Mario Lanza Competition, and 3rd Place in Houston Grand Opera’s 2016 Eleanor McCollum Competition.
Alexandra completed her formal training as a Resident Artist at the Academy of Vocal Arts, and as a Young Artist with Minnesota Opera, San Francisco Opera’s Merola Program, and served two summers at Santa Fe Opera. She holds a MM from The Juilliard School and a BM from the Peabody Conservatory.
