Jeremy Kelly


Rising young baritone Jeremy Kelly sings his first performances of Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor with Florida Grand Opera and Guglielmo in Così fan tutte with Opera Grand Rapids in the 2009-10 season in addition to singing Carmina Burana with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá. In the summer of 2009, he joined the Cincinnati May Festival for Weill’s Seven Deadly Sins with James Conlon conducting. Among his other engagements in the 2008-09 season are his first performances of Marcello in La bohème with Opera Omaha, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Opera Pacific, and Belcore in L’elisir d’amore with Dayton Opera in addition to joining the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra for Carmina Burana.

Among his previous engagements are acclaimed portrayals of Schaunard in La bohème with Seattle Opera for he was praised for “giving more vocal life to Schaunard than I've heard or seen in a long time” (Opera News) as well as previous performances of the role with Cincinnati Opera and Kentucky Opera. He also returned to Kentucky Opera for Ping in Turandot and Cincinnati Opera for the Marquis in La traviata. As a member of the prestigious Seattle Opera Young Artists Program, he sang Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro. While a member of Cincinnati Opera’s Young Artist Program, Mr. Kelly sang Moralès in Carmen, Baron Douphol in La traviata, and Mandarin in Turandot. He also performed Marcello in La bohème in student performances with Kentucky Opera as a member of the company’s Young Artist Program.

On the concert stage, he has joined the New York City Ballet for as a guest soloist in performances of Bernstein’s Dybbuk. With Dayton Bach Society, he has sung numerous performances including Bach’s Cantata No. 106, Haydn’s Theresienmesse, and Rutter’s The Wind in the Willows. He has also sung Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé with the Seattle Philharmonic and performances of Faure’s Requiem and Bach’s Cantata No. 97 in Cincinnati.

Mr. Kelly holds both a Master and Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music.
